"When his brother is killed in battle, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. There he learns of greedy corporate figurehead Parker Selfridge's intentions of driving off the native humanoid "Na'vi" in order to mine for the precious material scattered throughout their rich woodland. In exchange for the spinal surgery that will fix his legs, Jake gathers intel for the cooperating military unit spearheaded by gung-ho Colonel Quaritch, while simultaneously attempting to infiltrate the Na'vi people with the use of an "avatar" identity. While Jake begins to bond with the native tribe and quickly falls in love with the beautiful alien Neytiri, the restless Colonel moves forward with his ruthless extermination tactics, forcing the soldier to take a stand - and fight back in an epic battle for the fate of Pandora." If falling in love is in the Plot Summary, then it's one of the foci. And the N*Sync of movies is surely a great analogy for Twilight.

They're called "Na'vi"?
That's one more reason I don't need to see it. Every time I'd here the word, all I'd be likely to think is... "hey! listen!"
No thanks.
Amazing how it went from Twilight to Avatar eh?

My view of Avatar, which I did enjoy for what it was: The story of Pocahontas in a fiber-optic Fern Gully.
And again, for what was supposed to be just a "haha look at that" thread, this has become more popular than some of our ACTUAL gaming-pertinent threads. And yet no one really takes up for Twilight except to give a smidgen of credit here and there. *sigh*

Well I don't know about you guys but a lot of the people I know that enoyed twilght (for whatever reason) are not that great at making a valid point. The best arguement I heard was that it was a new spin on a old myth. But then I find that a weak agrument.
And rock, sure it's in the summary but far from a main foci. The movie impressive enough to warrant a good review, just wished c burg didn't show it in 3d. And I have yet to see anyone besides you call it a romance action film, but Hey to each their own.
