Old and new, what are some of your favorite games and for which system? It can be anything from the old gen systems like Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, or as new as the Wii, PSP, and Nintendo DS.
I think so far my most enjoyable game as far as replay value has to be Rock Band. I've only ever played on the X360, so I'll leave it at that.
After that would have to be Mario Kart Double Dash for the Gamecube. I have played some of it on the Wii, but I tend to overdrive with the controller, even on the Gamecube, and therefore don't do nearly as well. Daisy and Baby Bowser ftw!!
I've enjoyed the Tomb Raider series, only having played the original, a little bit of II, Legend, and the anniversary edition on PS2.
The Smackdown vs. RAW games have been pretty fun, yet frustrating at times. Probably the most frustrating part to me about it, other than losing after you've done five finishers in a row to your opponent, is having to have the multi-tap if you want any more than two players.
That's probably my biggest complaint about the PS2 when compared to the Xbox or Gamecube systems is the lack of controller ports and the need to buy extra parts just to have more players.

The funny thing about being a role player is, I never really liked RPG games all that much as a kid...or in fact even now. Some were okay, but I'm pretty sure I never finished a single one.
If it hadn''t been for games like, Track and Field, RC ProAM, and Super Mario, I wouldn't even still play.
Best systems are tough, but my favorites were the Super NES, Playstation, Playstation 2, and XBox 360. They are the ones I wasted the most hours on, and enjoyed the most.
I find as games become more realistic, or more intuitive, they don't necessarily get better, sometimes just more frustrating.
Favorite games...hmmm. That's tough because I've played many. Most are action/adventure types, like Tomb Raider, or Mario, or even Deathtrap Dungeon or Devil May Cry.
Occasionally a shooter, or survival are good. I loved Perfect Dark, most of the 007's, Timesplitters 2, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2, and Halo. Clock Tower looked okay, Parasite Eve I still have but never finished. Resident Evil used to be good, but just as it reached its peak, went right back downhill. It spends too much time being pretty and thats just not scary or anything. Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark had the same problems, but were good at one point or another.
Give me a good driver, like Need For Speed, or a run and gun like GTA, and I'm on for hours. Double Dash is fun, I racked up tons of hours, and beat the snot out of many records, and beat every last one of you that has played against me. I readily challenge the rest of you. My wife and Phil were my best co-pilot/gunners. A perfect team, that compliments each other well, cannot be held down.
Wrestling games were always better than fighters to me, probably because I knew the stars and can create my own...In your face Tekken...no freakin create your own is always a deal breaker. Smackdown v. Raw was a hit at my house for years, from the original, all the way to 2008...but it stopped there, because like survival horrors, just started getting worse. A previous wrestling title called WWE: No Mercy had one of the earliest (good) character creation modes, and it is where one of my favorite characters of my creation came from. The original Blake Gentry. Then he had white hair, and an eye patch, but he become more interesting later as I made him again and again.
Blake currently stars as a recurring NPC in my Hunter: the Vigil game (cheap pop).

It all comes down to the games that are on the system.
Right now for me it has to be the Xbox 360, it has Bioschock, CoD Modern Warfare, rockband, and so many other great games out on it.
The wii is a close second cause its just fun.

I'll have to second that Fenix...with the PS2 in close second (since I haven't actually played the PS3).

ps3 is the superior system but i still spend alot of time on 360. fav games have to be metal gear solid, metal gear solid 2, metal gear solid 3, and you guessed it mgs 4. i also like the metroid prime series. games like borderland or fallout 3 are ok but i burn out. i like games with story, depth, and unperdictability. i wish they had more games like hellgate london (very good game), and diablo 2 with the random maps and enemies.

i honestly dont play games all that much anymore, being the type of person to rather a book to a video game, but some i actually own are:
metroid prime/2: the only fps i ever cared about, and 2's multiplayer is a good change from smash bros every now and then
rpg: tales of symphonia: one of the few 2 disk gamecube games, and yes, it has that much to it. 70+hours of playtime to beat it on a single dificulty. whats that tell you?
racer: sonic riders, cuz most car games suck. im not a fan of ricers, nor fake muscle cars (sorry, the corvette and mustang are NOT muscle class, if anything their still pony class) and very few games put any chrysler corp cars in (70's cuda, 70's charger/challenger, vipers, ect) or if they do its MAYBE one or two.
multiplayer: smash bros melee. they took out roy and mewtwo in brawl. made me tear up. also, soul calibur 4 (x box 360) or soul calibur 2 (gamecube- w00t link!) and riders and metroid prime2 are multiplayer.
game ive spent the most time on? tales of symphonia, most definately. ive beat every difficulty, got every item (all 1865 of them) every title for all chars (all 245 of them for 8 chars) so yeah, its by far my favorite. sadly, only co-op multiplayer. oh well, still a good game.

I'm one of those losers who would sit in the dark with their giant first-gen Ps2 humming in the background, playing the cult classics. ^.^
Oh, and the gameboy was the best thing to ever happen, ever. IMO.

ive been playing resident evil 4: wii edition lately, and ive been enjoying it. im to the castle, so no spoilers please =) ive also gotten into a very cartoony racer for the wii, idk what its name is. seems the wii is very pointed towards kids, with the exception of a few games (and that stupid wii fit...)
ive also been playing star fox for the gc. pretty nifty, i must say.
