Chapters of the Rising Moon and Setting Sun
Dwarves were cunning, and it didn't surprise the Shogun that they weren't going to be hammering out a deal just yet. However, he was pleased that the formerly stoic and somewhat condescending noble was now enjoying himself and joking away the night. He nodded slowly, and leaned over to Chen. "Go to Machucar, outside the city, and tell him to strike the tents. We will go with these dwarves to fight the elves on their territory." He then turned his attention back to the dwarf. "I have my personal troops; they shall march with us, along with our best artillery and cavalry. We will go with you as soon as you are ready, master dwarf."

Chapters of the Rising Moon and Setting Sun
"Of course, master dwarf, but we do not wish to leave without our guests. I can have my troops ready to leave by the day after tomorrow, if that is not too soon for you."
"Nae too soon, manling! There's elves to hack!"
The next day the troops were rallied. There were two thousand infantry, five hundred light cavalry, several dozen cannons, and the requisite supply trains. The Shogun went with Thokk, Machucar, and the twins to lead the army into battle while Kukun and Chen stayed behind in Otaru to manage the remainder of Nakushita's forces. The nation was rebuilding, and as the soldiers went forth to the wastes, the peasants watched with looks of hope mingled with despair. War was back in their country within scant days of a new king being crowned, and so they despaired. However, this king had united the nation and defeated the robber barons that threatened to lord over them, and now courted dwarves as allies. Perhaps, they dared to dream, this could be the last war...

Scorpion in the Milk Jar
Machucar was well aware the dwarves were on there way to the camp, the could be heard long before they were seen. Machucar himself scouted the 200 dwarves that were entering the camp, they were short, stout, armed to the teeth, and carried an attitude of superiority. These creatures were getting on Machucar's nerves and they weren't even in the camp yet. He returned to the camp and told his Council to pass the word along that no man was to seek the Dwarves out for any reason until further notice. Machucar then quickly sought the Shogun.
"The Dwarves will be in the Camp within moments. My people would appreciate it if we didn't have to interact with them more than necessary."
Machucar then sat with the Shogun to discuss the Dwarves and what scheming he would do to get them to forge weapons and armor as well as reinforce the infantry with Dwarven Heavy Infantry. There was to be a banquet to delay the Dwarves and get them drunk to the point where they would easily strike a deal to forge and reinforce, Machucar respectfully declined attending. From the stories he had heard, Dwarves were kind of people Machucar avoided.
Soon a messenger appeared to tell the Shogun that the Dwarves had arrived, Machucar bid the Daimyo farewell and returned to his People to oversee the preparations for resettlement.
After the banquet Chen himself came to Machucar to tell him the plan: 2000 light infantry, several dozen cannons, and 500 of Machucar's best Cavalry were to march on the Dark Elves as a test for the Dwarves. Machucar seethed with anger as he passed along the orders, who were these Dwarves to test anyone? This wasn't a simple war over land, this was a war to protect the very way of life for everybody who wasn't a Dark Elf. The next day Machucar rode alongside the Shogun and Thokk; the latter red-eyed and swaying in his saddle, with a very large and red lump protruding from his head. They were prepared for whatever they could prepare for in this campaign and hoped it would be a quick and descisive victory.

Of Greed and Kings
The day was at a close, and the men came to a stop roughly five miles from the edge of Tzats camp. Six dead scouts littered the road behind them, as well as the two dead horses they had rode in on. Climbing a tree, Xen could see the lights from the camp in the distance.
"How is the view?" Sundered Heart asks. "Five miles. Six tops." Xen replies. "Explains the scouts" "Indeed. I think we should attack Immediately." "Fine by me." Jumping from the tree and landing without a sound, Xen starts stripping a nearby scout. the two had found ones roughly their body size. Sundered Heart applied his paints and powder, then dons a similarly taken scout outfit as Xen
"I will enter first" Xen says, looking at Heart. "Because you aren't one of us, you would show up faster. This way I can find him and then come back to the gates. give me a half hour." "Seems like a fine idea to me." Heart replies, climbing into a tree. "I will wait here, then in a half an hour start my walk."

Of Greed and Kings
The tree was well accomodating, he lounged comfortably in a large branch laiden with leaves, his body nearly one with the branch. Two long daggers were carefully tied to his sides, a third shorter dagger was held within his sleeves. He didn't much care for the design and texture of the dark elf scouting uniforms, He supposed he had just become comfortable to the uncomfortable stage clothes he was so known by. His rapier was tied to the top of the branch, and a stolen bow from the scouting party laid lightly in the leaves. In a half hour, he would start to the base. He doubted his reception would go smoothy..

Of Greed and kings
- It wasn't a problem for the Dark Elf to slip into the camp. One or two guards were quickly taken down when questions were asked, but no major hook ups occurred. Xen was just seconds from slipping into the tent of Tzats when two large guards and the Dark commander himself stormed out. Calling for his guards and his horse, Tzats the dark commander snarled in anger. "I ALMOST HAVE VICTORY HERE! The Dark God bless our King but this is a damn mistake! DAMN IT!!! Set the tents and the men to march, NOW! . . . The Great King Wishes for us to withdraw. . . Damned humans. . . DAMN lucky pink skinned pigs!"
- Xen, knowing the risk of attacking while the whole camp was going into motion, pulled away into the shadows. He did not accomplish his mission. . . But he knew the attacks on the Kingdom would stop. . . Was this good news, or bad? Xen could not tell.
The Dark Chapters
- The battles raged on, as the 2nd advance into the savage foot hills took place. The Dark King was days away with his army, but the wrath of the Dark Elves still raged across the foot hills.
- Though the threat of the Dark king was coming ever closer, the Warlock kept showing himself at every battle the orcs waged. Battle after battle, the dark Magic of this caster destroyed armies and obliterated the casters of the Dark Elves with ease. The Meat grinder of the Savage foothills turned over and over as a fresh supply of bodies came in every day.
Chapters of the Rising moon and setting sun/Scorpion in the milk char
- The nights were rough, the company even rougher. . . Dwarves were not known for their company. The march was slow, as once again the Dwarves refused to go any faster then their own walking speed. This caused anger in the Horde's Ranks as well as in the ranks of the Shogun. Artillery was wheeled faster then the dwarves. . .

Of Greed and Kings
Dabbing his brow after passing the third set of guards Sundered Heart moved deeper into the encampment. His paints were meant to last up to a week, but if used sparingly and used carefully, he could stretch it to two.
"Damn they all look alike!" Sundered Heart muttered under his breath ignoring the passer-byes.
The energy in the camp had certainly changed since he first entered. The air might as well have been electrified, it certainly made his passing much easier. He had gotten turned every which way due to the movements of others within the camp and still no sign of Xen.
"Blast this damnable mess," He thought, "I should have paid attention more so I could have something to discern Xen from every other dark-faced, brawny, and oddly formal elves."
By the time he found the head of the encampment, he was walking in plain sight down the center of the camp. Sundered Heart began to move out of the way when he heard Tzat's booming voice.
"You there!"
Sundered Heart almost dropped to the floor, at the very least, his heart felt like it had bounced off the ground, now heaving in great tides.
"I called to you soldier, ANSWER ME!" He boomed once more. Sundered Heart almost fell into a soldier's salute but that would have instantly given him away, he instead managed a response.
"Ser-cue, General." Sundered Heart answered.
"You will answer me properly and with respect! And how dare you forget to salute!" Tzat quickly grabbed Sundered Heart's arms and formed the dark elf salute and then slapped him with a heavy hand into the ground below. Then followed up with a swift kick to his abdomen. Xen could easily see it, everyone could.
"I will remember your name when you do something worth remembering!" Tzat continued to scream
Sundered Heart gasped and heaved, his abdomen surged with pain and heat, his mouth tasted of blood. His legs were merely clockwork motions at this point, not voluntary, but purely habitual. He stood up the blood dripping from his mouth, performed the salute and bowed.
"what would you have me do?"
"Gather your things and prepare to march back home, if you have already finished, then continue helping others. MOVE!"
"Yes sir." Sundered Heart replied walking out of sight as the others were ordered back to work. The injuries of his mercenary work, coupled with Tzat's assault left him physically drained. He needed a healer, whether wizarding, or holy man. It was necessary at this point to recover his strength. Avoiding fights at all costs was imperative until he was properly healed. It seemed that his fights would be quite close from now on, even if healed. Once hidden in the shadows, he said a short prayer against anyone finding him and collapsed across the ground. Exhaustion had found him at last.

Of Greed and Kings
After watching Tzats nock Heart to the ground, Xen quickly realised Heart was in no condition to fight immediately. Keeping as close as he could to Tzats, while still looking busy, Xen could only do his best to stay on him- Heart would be able to handle himself. There where healers in the camp and, if Sundered Heart knew what he was doing, he would find one.
And then it hit Xen.
This camp was returning home. What possible reason was there to return to the capitol, when Tzats had all but won? Something foul was happening. While not part of his job, Xen went looking for Tzats currier to and from the capitol. With any luck, he would still be in the camp.

Of Greed and Kings
- After the storm of rage Tzats let loose through the camp, the King's Envoy set out from the camp as the mad general returned to his tent. The enjoy could not be mistaken, the only Dark elf dressed in purple robes with gold edges.
- The Envoy left the camp, his Elite guard being the only thing between Xen and this information.

Of Greed and Kings
Leaving Tzats and Sundered Heart (tal, mind if I abbreviate that SH?? please?!?) to their own devices, Xen sneaks to the place the army is keeping their horses. Upon finding his way there, he is met with a pair of guards.
Nodding to the first guard and flashing his 'scout' uniform, he easily passes unhindered. as he approaches the second one, however... "Xen? You blasted fool? You're not part of this army!" The guard says, scowling. "Not in the slightest." Xen says, drawing his dagger. Who was this man? "Gah! Now I have to kill you. I knew better when your mother told us you had died." Xen, hearing this, pauses. "Who are you?" Xen asks. "And how did you recognize me?" "Your older brother, not recognize you?" the guard says, drawing a longsword. "Grief and more grief. Kael, how goes it?" Xen says, rounding slowly around his brother. they where in a clearing just over a hill, where noone would see them. "Fine, Xen. Your passing opened a way for our younger brother to usurp father's throne. How does that make you feel?" "What do I care?" Xen says, looking a the other dark elf. Could this man really be his brother? "Xen..." The man says, then stays his sword. "Go. I have no idea what you are doing. I fell asleep at the job. It was good to see you are alive." "Emotional as always. That will get you killed you know. " Xen says, grabbing the reigns of a horse and riding off.
Now, to catch that envoy.

The Dark Chapters
- A few days had passed since the Dark King had drawn his sword for the first time in over a thousand years. Dread-fang, it was called, a twisted black sword that was as light as air in the King's grip. As it was, the blade sliced through the Failed Commander's neck easily in one quick swing. The life behind the Dark Elf's gaze faded instantly as his head toppled to the ground. Soon Knights, in armor as dark as commander's blood, came rushing in to grab the headless knelt corpse. As if they were shadows, the Twisted Elven Guards made off with their goal, vanshing from the view of the Lords and Generals behind the silken walls of the large tent. - The Dark king sheathed his blade, not needing to wipe off the blood, for the dreaded weapon absorbed it eagerly. Turning his back to the host of his kingdom's highest members, the Dark king made his way to his travel throne. The throne was twisted and dark, much like the blade in the King's hand. The make of the chair was clearly one born of a sick mind, one bent on torture and anguish. Taking his seat, the king eyed his court and smirked behind the dark protection of his black horned helm. - "Know, my mercy is always there for those who do not fail me. Know my wrath is always there for those who do not succeed for me. I will not hear of another loss by these orc savages. . . In three days. . . I will meet this. . . Orc Chief, on the field of battle. . . I will meet this Warlock, face to face. . . If you all are cowards, and can only fail me. . . Then I do not need you. . . GUARDS! The Gods require my court! Let us not keep the Gods waiting!"
- In an orgy of bloodshed, the dark Knights returned from outside the tent and threw themselves on the King's court. Their swords rose and fell in quick mechanical movements as they separated flesh and bone with their twisted black blades. In was done in minutes, and the King's laughter lasted even longer. . . The Court the sat in silken pillows just moments ago, laid in pools of blood and fluids. The Dark King was happy to see blood again. . . It brought back memories of the old wars. . . The King couldn't contain his joy. . . Battle would soon be ringing in his ears and his blade would taste the blood of battle after a thousand year fast. . . Oh how the king laughed, his laughs were soon echoed by his Knights.
- Crishnick was happy. . . He felt fat from Elf flesh and his tent was running out of room to mount Elven heads. He had crushed army after army of the Dark Elves. . . Like waves they crashed drown from the North and met the rocks, the Orcish horde. He had could only smile as he thought of the orcish women back in the southern hills, the way they would treat the first "Emperor Orc". Crishnick thought to himself, moments later, of his alliance with the Warlock. . . He never thought a Human in nothing but rags, would live up to the very words he spoke. . . It was strange, in Crishnick's mind, that his Gods would send a human as their prophet. . . But it made no difference. . . Cirshnick thought. He only cared about the Dark Elf's crown he would put on. . . These pleasant thoughts put Crishnick to sleep, safe in his tent. . . Safe in the middle of a forest of tents. . . Safe in the middle of the largest Orcish host since the fall of the Lost Empire.
- Of Greed and Kings
- Sundered Heart recovered well enough. He was not questioned as he limped out of the camp, the guard barely even looked at the disguised man. It was when Sundered Heart was safe, a good distance away, he saw the dust running horse. He was not alone, he soon saw a Dark Elven guard just within sight on a nearby hill. At first, he could of sworn it was Xen, but the facial features were just ever so different. . . Family perhaps? Sundered heart gave it no mind. . . His focus was the horse race.
- Xen kicked at the flanks of the black horse. The horse was quick, and the gap was quickly made up. With a quick shout, the Knights, who guarded the envoy, greeted the elf dressed as a scout. "What more does the General want?" Asked the lead Knight. - Xen, with a quick thought, gave an even quicker strike to the Knight's horse with the curved and twisted saber that came with costume. With a death-cry, the horse went down, pinning its rider between itself and the ground. With shocked and stunned looks, the 3 other knights watched as Xen spurred his horse in a leap over the corpse and struggling leader. - The envoy, who's mind was in his own business and not in the world around him, was clearly shocked when he was grabbed at the waist and dismounted by the fast rider. The envoy could only shout as he felt his feat slide from the stirrups and his fingers leave the comfort of his horse's reigns. The envoy soon found himself looking down at the rapidly moving ground, a horse under his belly and a rider holding him face down. It came as an even bigger shock when he awoke hours later in a dimly lit cave. . . His only company being his tied hands and feat, and his silencing gag.
- It was not long after gaining his prisoner, that Xen found the bruised sundered heart. It was not long after that their plans were discussed.
Chapters of the Rising Moon and Setting Sun.
- The Shogun's dreams haunted him. . . Peace, fertile land, and happy people. . . The march had been rough for his whole army. . . For every step he went North, the orcish war bands took two more. It was no surprise to the islander, the Elves had taken the Orc's full strength to the border with Pontik in their bloody war. The Shogun could only hope to one day catch up and put a vanguard or a slow tribe to the sword, just to show the Dwarves he was truly a master of war. . . It felt, almost like a kick to the stomach, to hear the Dwarves mock his rag-tag men. Could they bother to understand the bloody civil war, the great Goldren Horde invasion, or the countless years of endless war these people had endured? Could the Dwarves understand, if the Shogun had it his way, he would have favored Katanna swordsmen in great numbers under silken banners, to have the great Long bows with their master work arrows firing for him, to have the great Yari wielding horsemen clad in their families traditional armor riding with him. . . Could the dwarves understand he had to work with these Club and axe wielding peasants in few number under his mud stained banner, he had to have the second hand guns and crossbows with their cheaply forged ammunition giving what support they could, he had to use the squires, barbaric knights, and Steppe tribesmen that were given to him. He had to use what he was given, and this was the best he had for now.
- Hope was still his rally cry. . . In his thoughts though, hope of his Sea to Sea Empire plagued him. He must catch up to these orcs quickly!
- Kukken and Chen had never before been shocked to see such a sight. . . An Elf in their court. . . An Elf that was not Dark and twisted. . . A real elf. . . An Elf from the forest, as if Straight from the legends of old. . . Though the Elf's words were of gloom and doom of a power, ancient and old rising from the Southern Mountains, as well as a Cold and Wrathful power from the North. . . He spoke of a Dark Elven King's Wrath, and the endless shadow of a Twisted God. It was no surprise, a rider was sent at once for the Shogun, taking word of Tielinith the Elven Mage's arrival in Otaru.
- Through the Grass the Fox stalked his prey. . . With a quick pounce from the shadows, the eccentric Northerner, Commander Leu'tion greeted the Shogun just a few yards from the command tent. "Monsieur Daimyo, ze Orcs are jus' North of us. I would say, eh... Day or two of hard ride, no? I had jus'eh, finshed speaking wiz' our. . . more savage allies and monsieur Machucar about zeir thoughts. . . Our savage allies, ze small bearded fellows, had nothing of importance to say. . . But monsieur Mchucar, could ride ahead fast wiz his Lighter calvary and catch ze orcs from Behind!" - The energetic man from the Barony lands grinned as he slammed his fists together for dramatic affect.
