Chapters of the Rising Moon and Setting Sun.
Machucar had lost his patience. These Dwarves had broken his last nerve with their superiority complex and refusal to listen to any reason. To prevent himself from killing a few of them to make the rest listen, he started scouting ahead with the best scouts he had left. He also started to train the replacements for the men who were massacred by the Dark Elves not so long ago.
One day Machucar and his best scout Sleifio were going through their normal procedures: gear check, signal check, emergency plan, and all the back up plans. Once they were on the same page, they set out to scout ahead and make sure nothing changed since yesterday or the countless other days this are had been scouted.
As They were stalking through the grass, Machucar heard whistling. He silently signaled Sleifio to be on guard and go around to pincer this creature. Within minutes the two were on either side of a meadow looking at a strange creature. Sleifio signed the age-old question: kill or capture?
Machucar's first reaction was kill then capture, but this creature had a presence about him. He felt that this was not something that one sees everyday. Machucar signaled Sleifio to stand down and be observent, then walked right into the open.
The creature stopped his whistling suddenly as Machucar appeared as if from the ground itself.
"Blood and sand! Are you some kind of spirit here to haunt me or are you one of those that I have been seeking for the past few days?"
"That all depends on what you are and what you've done recently." Machucar replied.
Smiling, the creature replied: "I am an Elf and I have been looking for the Shogun for two days."
When he heard this Machucar immediately grabbed his knife. "Dark Elf or Forest Elf?" He asked very curtly.
"Sir I am an Elf of the Forest. Those savages from the North are no kin of mine." The Elf replied offended.
"Good, follow me then and I'll take you to the Daimyo."
"Daimyo? I need to see the Shogun."
"That's who I'm taking you to. He was the Daimyo when I met him so the Daimyo he stays until he has proven himself to be a good Chief."
"You are a very strange man."
"I'm just living the only way I know how."
"I'd prefer you just tell me where I can find the Shogun, I'm a powerful mage who can just transport myself there."
"The Daimyo's with a column of troops not too far from here. Though I would suggest you head to Otaru, unless your business is to help our current situation."
"I have been sent to discuss a potential alliance between our people, not help you immediately. Thank you Sir, I'm almost certain I will see you again."
With that the strange Elf disappeared, leaving Machucar slightly concerned.
"Come Sleifio, we need to get back to the troops. The Daimyo will send for me anyway."
