What are some things you can think of that truly makes a geek?
How geek are you?
Should I have to watch all of Battlestar? Make a final choice to like Star Trek or Star Wars better and defend my side? How many games do I have to play and which ones to truly be accepted into the geek community?
This is sure to be a fun one, cause I for one, am not nearly as geek as some make me out to be, or even perhaps as much as I'd like to be.
Let's discuss!

With so many kinds out there, I think I fall into the "Casual Geek" category.
I am picky about the games I play, rarely do much reading, watch sci-fi for the story and not the gadgets and science, and could easily have as much fun or more going camping as opposed to Sunday night role playing games.
I also know very little about technology as we have it, as my computer is pushing 7 years old, with very few upgrades, none of which are newer than two years.
Keep it going and I'll likely add more too.

Well I think I fall into a Otaku/Gamer area of geek at best.
I have played table top RP games, and a lot of FPS games on the xbox. I hang out with people that are more in tune their "geekness". I will keep up on technology since we have to learn to use it at some point, and now my job requires that I do. Also I enjoy watching Anime and some Sci Fi movies, but I haven't been too into a series since Firefly. I read a fair amount, little of everything from war novels to some fantasy (Tolkien).
I don't play magic. Not into the MMOs (World of Warcaft, Ever Quest etc.) I only own like the 3 core books for 3.5 D&D, I don't own any of the other table top RP stuff out there (sorry I haven't bought any, my friends did give me pdf files). With the exception of this forum I am not a huge poster. Not being in the house is way better then stay at home playing games all day ( a little gaming here and there sure). Unlike some people *coughdrozcough* I have not created a site for D&D geeks to gather.
Now that I think about it I barely qualify as one....so why am I here??? Guess I'm just bored.

does "wishes he could be more of one" count?
im pickey about some games, especially the fps genre, im not fond of it really. ive played dnd 3.5, and own 8 4.0 books. i play magic and im a level three judge through wizards for sanctioned events. love tbs/rts/rpg video games. have played warhammer and battletech. play three mmos when i have free time. would rather be inside playing something than outside, or outside reading a book than camping.
yeah, that about sums me up =)
