You are all familiar with character concepts. (If this is not true, buddy up with someone, and get a a proper World of Darkness source book, and learn it.) I would like you to post here on the forum the concept of your character.
I am not interested in stats, skills, merits, or other "junk" at this time. A name if you have one is fine. Please send private messages to me or other players to develop your character ideas, I do not wish to have this page bogged down by creative speculation and brainstorming.
The tarot reading above below is both our Chronicle's introduction, and meant as a helper to spark some character back story and concept juices to flow.
You all Most of you have already been brought together, and I will do my best to explain to each of you why that is from your own perspective, as you may not all agree to wish that to be public knowledge at this time.
This game is not slated to run terribly soon. However, brainstorming for a crossover game of this magnitude will require some time, and I want to start making my ideas clear as early as possible to make it ready to play when a "vacancy" shows itself.
Private message me as early as you wish to begin talk of your character's involvement in this chronicle. Please keep an open mind, and a "forward momentum" mindset about you, as it will otherwise become incredibly difficult to make this game possible.
The cards are yours to keep in game. I have a program at the ready for a few basic layouts if you wish to perform readings throughout the game.

In my own meager OOC defense of my own card reading and it's implications, allow me to quote a man we all know and (I think) love, Captain Jack Sparrow. ~~ I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid. ~~ I say this is an OOC defense because I probably couldn't quote him ICly, and I also happen to like all of the readings so far. Now I can't wait to meet all of us!

((It may be in the best interests of those playing to get in touch with your party. I have seen much activity about the game but only from Ryan, Dicky, Alex, and Steph. If these will be the only players, that is fine. I am soon to declare it set that way as absolute, only because I really need feedback from all the players involved in order to put this together well and to actually be able to run the game. A smaller party is much more managable, and easier to prescribe action for. So those of you who HAVE already been chattering about the game, please help get the rest in, (yes I have already emailed them, and been posting this thread for their awareness) lest they be removed, and/or replaced. Thank you.))

The old woman you sought hushes you as you enter. She waves an open hand toward an empty seat before each of you. Wordlessly, she closes her eyes, and shuffles the mass of large cards before her. Swirling them around in many arcs and sweeps, finally she picks up the cards. One has loosely fallen from the deck, so she pushes it to one side for now.
"Focus my dears, on that which has brought you to me. That which plagues your senses, and fogs your minds. Think on it long and hard. Very good. We will use these draws to form the 'Celtic Cross' at this time."
She reminds you each in turn to concentrate on your current situation, as she slowly turns several cards face up before you on the table. The mystery card still lies to one side, and she begins to speak of the task that is before you.
(Possibly the most powerful of all Tarot card spreads, the Celtic Cross yields highly detailed and incredibly subtle readings.)
((The following reading has been altered from the original, due to growing interest, to allow for a few more players.))
{First Card} The Basis: The basis of the situation. The general tone of the reading and the problem for the querent.
The card shown here is "the 7 of Swords" Lack of Purpose - A confusion of options causes goals to become confused. To go in circles or waste time. A need for assistance and guidance goes unanswered.
{Second Card} Obstacles: The challenges or obstacles that lie in the querent's path. This "crossover card" is always read in the upright position.
The card shown here is "the Emperor" Conquest - The realization of a greater goal is represented here. Conflict may be necessary for victory to exist. Achievement comes with strong leadership. Power is consolidated.
{Third Card} Subconscious: How the querent truly feels about the matter. These are hidden thoughts, fears or emotions which may come into play now or at a later time.
The card shown here is "the Ace of Swords" Awareness - Clarity of the mind. Self evidence. The Ace of Swords represents a singularity of purpose and piercing intent. Focus and consciousness combine for decisive decisions.
{Fourth Card} The Past: The events in the recent past that influence or effect the querent's question. Possibly a person, an event or a previous psychological or spiritual state.
The card shown here is "the 2 of Swords Decisions - [ inverted meaning ] - Out of balance. Old rivalries reappear. A time of peace may be the calm before the storm. Arguments arise.
{Fifth Card} The Conscious: The querent's surface feelings, or conscious thoughts on the subject. Compare with Position #3.
The card shown here is "the 9 of Wands" - inverted Power - [ inverted meaning ] Decisions have weakened one's position. A defense will be difficult. A difficult conflict approaches.
{Sixth Card} The Future: An event, state of mind, person or spiritual state that will occur in the future.
The card shown here is "the 6 of Wands" Victory - Success as a result of time and energy well spent. Advancement comes on the back of sound performance. A possible promotion or financial success.
{Seventh Card} The Querent: This position gives insight into the current attitude of the querent and how they fit into the situation.
The card shown here is "the 8 of Pentacles" Skill - There is no substitute for talent and experience. A person of exceeding skill and mastery. A time for diligently applying what has been learned in the past.
{Eighth Card} The Environment: This position relates to the relative surroundings of the querent in this matter. Consider relationships including friends, family or professional associates.
The card shown here is "the Page of Pentacles" Potential - Something that shows a great sense of promise. An overwhelming sense of possibilities and potential successes. A diamond in the rough. A performance that gets better with time. Flexibility of thought.
{Ninth Card} Hopes and Fears: This position provides insight into the querent's outlook about resolutions and outcomes of the situation -- or who the querent hopes (or fears) will be involved.
The card shown here is "the Chariot" - inverted Willpower - [ inverted meaning ] Defeat. A loss of personal drive. A slowing down from higher speeds. Inactivity.
{Tenth Card} Final Outcome: This position gives a glimpse into the final outcome of the situation and how it will play out over time.
The card shown here is "the Ace of Pentacles" - inverted Abundance - [ inverted meaning ] A success at the cost of one's conscience. A victory with a high cost -- financial, physical or spiritual.
It is unclear if the dropped card is meant to be seen right side up, or inverted, but she gives you the card nevertheless, and tells its meaning.
{Dropped card - "the Hanged Man"} Punishment - A suffering is due. An involuntary sacrifice. A penalty which may be warranted due to misdeeds, or unwarranted due to uniqueness and difference.
[ inverted meaning ] - One who will not compromise. To stick to one's position. To be vindicated.
"These cards do not necessarily depict you, but whatever it was your thoughts were centered around as I shuffled the deck, with yourselves being the querent of the drawn cards, respectively.
You are searching for your Hanged Man. Unraveling this simple mystery is the key that will for certain make your journey possible.
Whether you have come to understand or not, those like yourselves come together by no accident. The task set before you may be better placed into more experienced hands, its true, but time is short, and leylines are weak.
You will do as you must, and grant yourselves this chance to return to what you know is proper. Both with a greater understanding and a broadened perspective of the nature of this world of twists and shadow."
Her eyes close then, and her breathing slows, and then stops. She is completely unresponsive, clinically dead. Just like that.

((after a short-winded conversation about the upcoming game, I am hereby disallowing the use of any game mechanic (such as flaws) that grants a character "extra" experience points. You have all been given 40exp. I feel this is plenty, and do not care to bend on this. Flaws can be interesting, so if you want one, take it. But you will gain no benefit from it.))
