What was your favorite console/video game system as a kid? Was it because of the games available on it, the "awesome" graphics, or some other reason?
Compare gameplay time on your favorite and/or most frustrating games.
Feel free to list what you think were the pro/cons of the old gameware. And don't forget to list reasons! Some of us didn't happen to have these wonderful little inventions when we were kids, and so may not mind hearing some of the "old folks" talk about their stone-age software.
Also, do you still own/play any of them?
Just to name a few: -Atari -Sega -Nintendo -Dreamcast

I began on the oldest of game systems...well maybe not the oldest.
As a young lad I played on the likes of Intelevision, Caleco Vision, and Atari. Great titles from those days included Atlantis, Jungle Hunt, and family favorites Pepper II, Root Beer Tapper, and Mr. Do!
To this day a game of Mr. Do with its simplicity makes me smile.
What do I still own? Super Nintendo, Dreamcast (I know right?), Playstation 2, and am on the lookout for a new something to take its place.

Seriously the oldest game I remember playing would have to be Oregon Trail. It was one of my favorite games when I was a kid.
Can't remember to much for the Atari, but the next console system that I had and still have was the original Nintendo. And Super Mario brothers was the game. Never mind it was shared between like 10 of us, it was still great.

I grew up with a Nintendo and a Texas Instrument "computer" (it was a keyboard that you hooked up to your tv and had cartridges similar to the SNES).
I loved the first and third Super Mario Bros games (owned the first one, grandparents owned the third one), as well as 2 Bible games. Tetris was another favorite, but I didnt get that one till middle school. In college, my neighbor gave me a box of games, so my collection has grown. Last I checked, my system still works, I played it a few times when we lived at the commune when I wanted so "me" time away from everyone.

i have played: atari 1600, atari 2600, atari 5600 , N.E.S., S.N.E.S., sega, sega saturn, dreamcast, N64, and pretty much everything forward.
i still own: atari 5600, NES, SNES, gamecube, block gameboy (the original) gameboy color, and a ds lite.
favorite oldschool game? well, i would have to say earthworld for the atari, or sonic (1,2,3,nuckles) for the sega genisis. for those who dont know, earthworld was a pretty good (really, really bad in todays society) rpg.
oh, and we cant forget the legend of zelda for the NES, or final fantasy 3 for the NES. they rocked (and i still own both, gold cartridge and all)
and to think, im only 20..... but i played games when i was two XD.
