Iados the Blaze
Age: 35 Gender: Male Height: 6 feet 2 inches Weight: 195 pounds Alignment: Chaotic…. Chaotic. Class: Spellthief/Assassin/Bounty Hunter Race: Tiefling
“Twenty Seven years. Eighteen with that damndable eccentric mage. Nine with this damndable guild. No more.”
Iados said, standing in front of what HAD been the base of operations for the guild. Nothing more than a pile of rubble, the guild was gone, at his hand.
“Two hundred and forty men and women, and they still fell at my hand. What would you say, Guildmaster, if you could see me now? Would you have taught me if you knew your little protégé would be the undoing of everything you worked so hard to build? Knowing you, you would have. You always had a way with uncanny irony.”
Turning around and walking down the path, Iados starts to mutter. After about a dozen steps, the keep explodes in fire and wind.
One thing that old man was good for, I suppose…. He thinks. At the end of the pathway now, he turns and watches the fire consume flesh, wood and stone as if there was no difference. Grinning at the thought of an even grander adventure then what he had been doing for the past almost thirty years, he sets off. The light from the fire was burning behind him, lighting his way.

“You there! Tiefling! That’s my barstool. Git yer ass outta it!” These where the first words of the next man who talked to Iados. A dwarf, late into his nineties by the looks of it, was standing behind Iados. He wasn’t OLD, simply weathered. With what looked to be either a small child or a gut the size of one under his shirt.
“Well, certainly sir. Would you also like me to get you a booster seat? I doubt that, even a dwarf of your girth, would be able to see over the bar without one.”
Iados pulls his legs up in time for a huge axe to miss cleaving through his legs. The barstool, however, wasn’t so lucky. As it toppled to the ground, Iados used his already pulled up legs to push off the bar, propelling him backwards over the dwarf. Landing on his back and rolling onto his feet, he looks up in time to see the same huge axe headed for his head. Ducking to the right and whipping out a special shuriken, he whispers a word in arcanic and throws it at the weapon of his foe. Clanking off the blade, the shuriken explodes in a cloud of smoke.
Ducking under tables and dashing for the window, He feels a bolt from a crossbow slam into his right shoulder. Cursing his luck, he jumps straight out the window, glass shattering to the ground and along with him. Rolling to his feet and turning about, he sees the dwarf step out of the bar. “Chicken shit! Can’t even hold your own in a bar fight? What was a little pansy boy like you doing in the bar anyway?!” Bellows the dwarf, smirking. “I’ll teach you a lesson, you stupid thing!” As the dwarf lifts his axe, Iados throws two daggers at the sign above the dwarf’s head. Connecting with the rusty chains holding it in place, the daggers burst into small flames, causing enough force to break the chains apart. The sign no longer tethered to the building, crashes right down on the dwarf’s head.
“Gents Hotblood, I’m taking you in. You have a 3,000 gold piece bounty on your head.” Iados smiles. Doing what he wants, setting his own targets, was so much better than dealing with that goddamned guild. The bartender, crossbow in hand, steps forward, leveling it straight at Iados. “And who will be paying for the repairs to my bar?” he says, looking at Iados.
Smiling a vicious, mischievous smile, Iados bows. “My apologies. I’ll have a man here to fix it in an hour. Until he gets here.” Iados pulls a jewel-encrusted sword from his pack and hands it to the bartender. “ This is worth a hundred platinum on the market. I think it is an acceptable form of collateral?”
The bartender looks at the sword for a moment, then says ‘fine. If your man isn’t here in an hour, its mine.” “Sounds fair to me.” Iados says, smiling again. Hefting the dwarf over his shoulder, he walks away.
After about two blocks, he snaps his fingers, the jewel-encrusted sword appearing back in his hand. “I have to commend that Drawmij person- this ritual works well!”
