Here's another question for all you WoW fanatics. (me included)
What addons do you use and why? Are there any that you have tried and didn't like and wouldn't recommend? List reasons please.
My addons
flagRSP2 - a roleplaying tool that allows you to add prefix, suffix names, titles, a description of your character that is not visible in game (scars, wounds, different eye/hair colors, tattoos, obvious deformities, etc.), and to list whether you are playing in character or not. I use it to find other roleplayers. I've also used MyRolePlay in the past which does essentially the same thing.
Cons - People abuse the history/description window and hit you with a wall of text about their extensive backstory (which you shouldn't know just by looking at them) or the paragraph dedicated to the shade of green of their hair.
Outfitter - another tool most commonly used by roleplayers for easy change of clothing from RP outfits to normal battle gear. I think it would also be useful for when you have the ability to dual spec and you have diff armor pieces for each spec, or for PvE gear to PvP gear or whatever.
Cons - can't think of any at the moment, other than you have to remember to update your outfits if you get new gear for it, otherwise it will always switch to your old gear when you select that particular outfit.
RatingBuster - this tool displays the breakdown of stats and bonuses when you mouse over an item. Depending on your class and abilities/talents, it shows what stat will be increased/decreased by equipping the new item before you equip it. This saves mindnumbing number crunching on your part and possibly soulbinding a piece of gear you could otherwise sell/DE/whatever.
Cons - can't think of any for this one either, other than to make sure you have the right stats displayed for each char, adjustable in the addons menu screen.
DroptheCheapestThing - this tool puts adds a minimap button that when clicked will auto drop the cheapest gray item in your bag to make room for new loot. It shows a list of the gray items in your bag. You can also customize it to ignore certain items if you are collecting them.
Cons - can't think of any for this one. Droz may have an opinion since I know he uses this one too.
AllStats - this displays all of the character's stats in a sidebar window next to the character window. It can be hidden away if need be. This is diff from the stat window of the default character screen in that you don't have to select which set of stats to look at at one time.
Cons - can't think of any.
MapCoords - shows coordinates of player and cursor on the map screen and lists the coords under player's health bar as well as coords for party members if they are in the same zone. I use it because I can't stand not being able to find things when I need to look them up on WoWwiki or Thottbot and all the hints list coords.
Cons - can't think of any.
XtoLevel - this shows a progression bar under your health bar that shows how much of either mobs killed, dungeon runs, quest turn-ins, or battles are needed until you or your pet will level. I find it helpful when I'm trying to grind kills in a certain area. It will show a pop up text like a raid warning that says "# (mob) needed for Miazz to level" or "# more runs like that needed to level" after a dungeon run.
Cons - it can overlap the first party members player icon but that is adjustable in the addons menu screen too.
What are your opinions on these? Or please list your addons and why. Maybe other players will find an addon they've been looking for.
