Lord of the Rings Online is another Turbine product based in the world of J.R.R. Tolkien, NOT the movies. Honestly, I just returned to this game after thier release of "Siege of Mirkwood" and I have to say I'm rather impressed overall with what they've done. With the closing of Mines of Moria behind us, they introduced the region of Mirkwood which as of this moment the Epic questline will follow up to and including Boromier's demise and lead into thier next expansion which is presumably opening up Rohan and Isengard ((WOOT!!)).
Pros
-Everyone you come in contact with more than likely is IC, unlike most of the "roleplaying" games anymore, LOTRO is still heavily RP dominated.
-The Epic questline follows right behind the Fellowship as the start thier trek to Mordor. It's a highly involved line with a plot that is solid and hardly confusing at all.
- Combat system is generalized to fit your other games, I.E. WoW.
-Player homes, Kinship homes able to be bought and customized interior and exterior for your liking.
-New Skirmish Mode!! Do a dungeon on difficulty from 1-12 players. Can't find a fellowship to run with, no problem, you can run these skirmishes by yourself with the help of a summon able soldier fully customized for DPS, Healing or Tanking and still get awesome gear.
Cons
-Graphics are extremely nice as far as enviroment and may strain lower grade computers.
-The game itself is rounded more towards roleplayers than PvPers or PvEers.
-The PvP aspect of the game isn't liked by very many.
